Ever since I was a child from about age seven, I enjoyed helping my mom cook meals in the kitchen. I would stand around and watch as she would chop vegetables and bring various ingredients together to simmer, saute, bake or roast. I often volunteered to peel potatoes or carrots, snap green beans, or measure out ingredients, and I remember standing on a chair at the stove so I could stir the food in the pot or skillet as it was cooking.

Later, as I got a little older, my friends and I would ride our bikes to the book mobile (a library on wheels) where I would check out all kinds of cookbooks and asked my mom if she would help me make certain recipes. That is where my love for cooking started and I still have some of those early childhood recipes today. Throughout the years, I have collected thousands of recipes. I have a 5-shelf bookcase overflowing with cookbooks and food magazine subscriptions and there’s even more in another bookcase. I also have a couple of shoe boxes filled with recipe clippings from old newspapers and magazines that I’ve collected since I was a child. And then, there’s the recipes that have been given to me by friends and co-workers. I guess you could call me a recipe hoarder!

I did get rid of some of my cookbooks over the years only to find myself regretting it when I wanted to use a certain recipe. So, that’s why I decided to start a food website … so I can share some of my favorites with you and have them available here where I can easily find them. I hope you’ll give some of them a try and that you’ll enjoy them as much as I do!

As this site continues to grow, I plan on adding even more features in the near future such as adding contributors so that you can post your own recipes, customer accounts where you can save your own favorite recipe collections, and more.

If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions, please leave a comment and also let me know how the recipes turned out for you and whether or not they were a success with your family and friends. ENJOY and HAPPY COOKING!
